Don't make the dumb mistake I did and not open up the "gate" in queen's gardens. It made my winning run a lot harder than it had to be.
I had mark of pride, quick slash, and grubberfly's elegy. Those are the essentials to this run because they let you hit everything long range. There's also no danger in overcharming for some extra stuff since you don't plan on getting hit.
If you already did everything essence related, I'd reccomend dream gating at the grey mourner's home so you can restart on a dime.
If you don't want to deal with enemies, you can always kill everything on the route beforehand on a practice run and restart the quest without ever sitting on a bench, many enemies won't respawn that way.
But with the charm loadout that I had, it's very possible to go through the route without even clearing enemies first, you could try your hand at killing them on a "practice" run per se.
The worst part of the entire grey mourner's quest is the last part with the thorns, but if you can properly gauge the distance your dash would travel, you should be fine.

You get to bypass some of the more annoying enemies in the city and Fungal Wastes, and the Ooma and Uoma are completely passive (just don’t wear Defender’s Crest).
I’d also recommend using Fragile Strength over Mark of Pride; the extra range isn’t really needed when you’re rocking Grubberfly’s Elegy and the damage is quite useful for the tankier enemies of QG. It also has a single Mantis Petra on the way (the boomerang ones) that you should probably save your soul for and just blast away immediately.
You could also use Sharp Shadow to make those dashes at the end easier, but be careful not to dash into spikes elsewhere (also Oomas, it does the same thing as Defender’s Crest to them)
Most of my flower runs got killed at the end of Queen's Garden, but I also had quite a few missteps in that foggy descent after the Crossroads. Other than that, I think I might have been caught by a Vengefly in the Crossroads once or twice.
