How can I obtain the NEGLECT achievement if I didn't know I was supposed to leave Zote to die?
I already beat him in the colloseum, found the desending dream area where I fought the prince zote. Is it too late to get that achievement now?

Yep, there are a few achievements that you can only get one of per playthrough:
Neglect or Rivalry and Dark Romance
Purity or Happy Couple
Ritual or Banishment

edit: added spoiler tags if you don't want to know which achievements are mutually exclusive

When I complete the game I'll probably have close to 90 hours. Then to get the better ending that'll be more hours. I love this game but I don't think I'll have the drive to play for 150+ hours to get all the achievements lol.

That’s reasonable, though even if those ones weren’t there you’d need to do another playthrough (or 2) for all the achievements. That said, after the first run through the game, subsequent ones are much faster. My first run took me somewhere around 40 hours, but my second (which was intended for the speedrun achievements) took 15 and my third (for the game mode unlocked after you beat the game) took 13 when I was playing carefully.

Oh nice. Hey Darc by the way, just curious if I finish the game and get the regular blah ending, do I have to do a full playthrough to get the better ending?

Nope, you can reload your save and it will just put you back at the last bench you rested at with the Journal entry for the boss. You are free to blah it up.

Cool, that's what I was hoping for. I don't want to have to start over. I'm thinking I can complete most stuff with a few playthroughs which allow me to start at the last bench. If I miss a couple of achievements because I didn't want to do another long playthrough from the beginning - I'm fine with that.

There will be a total of 8 (I think) achievements, including Neglect, that you would need to start a new game for, all the other ones should be attainable on one save file.

edit: I counted the achievements and it is indeed 8 (would be 9 if you had gotten Neglect since that would lock out 2)

Thx man! I gotta give you and a few others on here tons of credit. Where you find the time, energy and desire to replay a game over and over to complete all the achievements is amazing. I have close to 45 games in my library and rarely put the hours necessary to complete any in the basic way, let alone a full 100%.

I've only recently started aiming for 100% in games (my Library is at 26 right now and I only have 100% achievements in like 4 of them), and even then it's really only the ones I enjoy enough to keep putting in time after I've beaten them. That or if there are only a few achievements taunting me with their incompleteness, Hollow Knight is the only one that I felt compelled to play through 3 seperate times in a row, and made me want to come back immediately when there's an update. The game's just that good imo.

No I agree it is an awesome game. I'm just wondering when the new DLC Gods and Glory comes out, do we have to start again or not. I'm hoping no but if it is that expansive and fun that MIGHT get me to start over to play.

gods and glory will be free ;)

I don't mean expensive, I wrote expansive - like a huge update with lots of new content.

i was wonderring that

I don’t imagine a full playthrough will be required for Gods and Glory, based on the last two packs being doable from an already completed file.
