Are there more characters to play with?

Hi,

I just found the HK Kickstarter page (here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11662585/hollow-knight)

If you scroll a little, you can see an image with the founding goals. I'm just seeing there are 2nd & 3rd playable characters. Only reached the goal for the 2nd, tho, but I'm just wondering if this is something I can unlock across the game.... perhaps, when finishing the game?

I'm still on my first run, but as far as I know, the game does have an Abyss, a White Palace and a Colosseum of Fools.... and even if the game will not be released for WiiU, it was for Switch.... so I'm just wondering if those 2 'new characters' are somewhere or if they are coming along the last DLC... does anybody knows? I'm really excited....

2nd and 3rd characters were gonna be Hornet and Zote.
At this point, none are playable. Hornet will be playable at some point, while Zote... His goal wasn't reached.
