Way to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. I'm not wasting time farming LOL
Talk about discouraging exploration... and 'geo farm' padding...
It's intended to feel alien and dangerous, with exploring it being an exciting risk.
Most people aren't running around it with as much cash as you, though, so the level of frustration you are feeling right now will be rare among your fellow players.
Yeah. Going back to the vender... selling them, then going back to a shop...
Even with the rancid eggs, it feels like a whole lot of padding. Even banking geo feels like extra stuff getting in the way of my-mighty-exploration-needs.
Dying completely hinders normal gameplay and becomes a sidequest
The mechanic is one big wall between me and the metrovany gameplay...
Yeah, I should just watch a let's play and take note of what enemies do a cheap ass multi-frame combos. Hinder/slow down and flatout discourage exploration in a metroidvania with this dumb geo/death mechanic. But hey, it's only a minority that actually calls it out for the padding that it is.
Sure you should have consequences for dying, but the whole geo implementation is 100% unecessary padding. I actually feel worse for the people who actually do end up farming lol
Don't be mean.
Anyways, check it out! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1273030138
Like 3-4 minutes of google and problem solved...
I gave myself 2k extra for my pain and suffering lol. Outright infurating.
But now I know there's a multi-frame cheap shot bug down there. I'll just spam my spells again it then.
I'm loving the game but it seriously fights me sometimes.
Walking back and worth between banks, shops and not feeling free to explore due to geo is annoying.
Discouraging exploration in a genre about it is negatory
Games are for enjoyment. As long as you aren't playing competitively it's all in good fun.
I didn't personally feel that my urge to explore was hampered by the death/poverty system, but I can empathize with your frustration, and if you feel it's preventing you from enjoying the game, then I hope this solves your problem.
With regards to the stalking devouts, (the thing that killed you), they have an armored face mask, and counterattack if you hit it or them with a very far-reaching 2-damage slashing attack.
Their attack is slower if you wait for them to initiate it, and their attack removes their armor, giving you the chance to hit.
Magic and the dreamshield can hit through their faceplates, but they will still try to counterattack you, I think, so be ready to dash away.
Edit: I see you already cheated the money back into your inventory. Cheers! Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't allowed to cheat in a single player non competative game. Who cares, it's your game that you spent money on, and if cheating helps you to enjoy it, then good for you. Personaly I do cheat in games when I feel like it would just be an unecessary time sink otherwise, or when I felt like I lost something I feel like I should still have because of dumb reasons.
When down to 1-2 health .... just quit. You'll respawn at the last bench you used with all your stuff.
Don't die. It's annoying, and potentially expensive.
Although, in boss fights, I'm honestly sometimes too slow to find the menu button on my controller.
