Quirrel Whereabouts
After you visit Quirrel the final time, you see his nail next to the lake. Is it meant to be implied he jumped in?

[Upon meeting Quirrel in the City of Tears]
"The city looks to be built into an enormous cavern, and the rain pours down from cracks in the stone above."

"There must be a lot of water up there somewhere. I suppose, if the cave roof stayed strong this long, it should hold for us."

"The rain seems to come down endlessly, though. I'd like to see where it all comes from before I leave this Kingdom. What a sight it must be!" (Blue Lake is the source of the water)

[After breaking Monomon's seal]
"Be on your journey then, and allow me rest a time. With the deed complete, I begin to feel my age."

[Meeting him at Blue Lake]
"Twice I've seen this world and though my service may have stripped the first experience from me, I'm thankful I could witness its beauty again."

I know what he says, I’m just curious if it’s meant to imply he jumped into the lake.

I believe he just leaves his nail there, getting killed somewhere else.

Don’t you think we would have found his body if he got killed. I have a feeling he either jumped on the lake or left Hallownest somehow.

Personally think he just left, it's what he says he'll do after his quest his complete. Quirrel doesn't strike me as the "end it all" sort. He loves exploring and seeing the world too much.

I hope your right. I wonder why he left his weapon though, surely he would have had to fight off enemies on the way out.

well, in the Black Egg he says that the "dead have no need for weapons" (not the exact quote), so it kind of implies he killed himself.

I sure hope not, he’s my favorite character so far.

I don't think he killed himself; rather, from the point he breaks the seal on Monomon, his body has probably started catching up with his actual age (which could well be much older than any bug would live naturally). I figure he probably used the last of his strength to reach Blue Lake, and managed to get himself in the water before he died a natural death in pretty much the most dignified way possible. I mean, the guy lived a full life, twice.
