Lost Kin
This boss almost gave me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stroke. ♥♥♥♥ this boss, I beat it but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I've loved every boss so far but this mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I lost count of how many times I got hit by those orange ♥♥♥♥♥ because they spawned right in front of me. Probably took me about 2 and a half hours to beat this guy.

one of my favorite bosses! not many games get bosses with ads right, but hollowknight does, because they are 1 hit kill ads, really adds to the chaos of the fight!

i dont know how but i deafeted him at the first try and got radiant on the pantheon... BUT he killed me in Steel Soul in less than 2 minutes

On my last run, I just brought Defender's Crest which kills them instantly with the stink aura.

It's a very low stress way to deal with that POS. lol

I beat this dude on my first try. I found him easy same with the other varient of him. But Soul master is a whole Different story.

broken vessel/lost kin seems to read input's i.e if you move around he will lunge on you, whilst if you stay stationary he will jump up and stay in the same spot.

He doesn't actually read inputs, his leap attack just tracks to where you are when the leap starts. but he can also leap to move. No enemy or boss in HK reads inputs.

(And by leap attack I mean when he jumps around to the arena, not his downward slash that spawns the infected blobs).

Depends on when you face him and how used to the speed of the game you are. If you go from Broken Vessel straight to Lost Kin it's a huge difference in speed.

The big challenge of Hollow Knight comes from getting your brain up to speed with the mechanics and developing muscle memory.

Some people are better at it than others. Like I struggled heavily with the game early on but managed to get myself all the way up to Markoth in the 5th Pantheon.

The thing with Lost Kin is he very hard to heal against. When he's not staggered, there's simply no time to heal, and even when he's staggered, you still have to kill the balloons before it's safe, and if you time it badly, clearing the field might not even leave you enough time to get up from healing without getting hit. That kind of boss might seem pretty easy if you fight confidently, but they're a pain in the ass if you're a bit nervous; after the first hit you'll probably end up in a downwards spiral where the extra healing you try to do just costs you more hitpoints.

Stagger him then? Go offensive on him. His stagger combo window ends fast but the number of hits needed is quite small. You can also use defender's crest which you most likely have but its really not needed. I never had a problem with baloons and healing

I feel like the biggest reason for why this boss was so hard for me was because I didn't have the shade cloak and I was a dumb dumb who looked at a lot of the charms and said "Eh, doesn't seem too useful to me." Still, I think bosses should be fair even without some way to cheese them. Enemies shouldn't spawn right ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in front of you while fighting a boss. Some of my favourite bosses in this game are the ones that don't give you many openings to heal and force you to be aggressive.

Okay. You asked how people can die to him, and I answered. I wasn't asking for a lecture on how to beat him. I find this boss piss-easy as well, but I can still see how first time players could have a lot of trouble.

Why not though? It just means you have to pay attention to more than just the boss. While the defender's crest may be useful for this fight, I wouldn't know because I never used it. To me, being able to guide the fight so that I can take care of the balloons without being caught off guard by Lost Kin himself is quite satisfying, and I don't really see how the fight isn't fair when you can counter everything he and his cronies do.

I don't mind other enemies being an obstacle. What I do mind is when those enemies are impossible to dodge. Sometimes it is impossible to dodge them because they'll spawn right in front of you when you jump. You can't not call that unfair. And keep in mind I'm not saying that I hate the boss because it's hard. I absolutely loved Nightmare Grimm, who took me less time to beat keep in mind.
