Which ending is canon?
Presumably the normal Godmaster ending, right?

none of them. They are all just "endings" according to the devs, you can pick which one you like

yeah, but the game is getting a sequel, and let's just say some of the endings don't look like endings where a sequel with Hornet can happen
because y'know
she ends up pretty much dead in one of them

I believe the 'most canon' ending is Dream No More, but we don't actually know when Silksong is going to take place. It might be a prequel for all we know.

Don't worry she learned to git gud at not being dead

To me, the two canon endings are Dream no More and Embrace the Void.

What if it worked like the Zelda timeline and it split?
Then if they make more games in the future it could work based on that

Meh. The Zelda timeline wasn't a good idea anyway.

True, but the concept of a split is what I mean

I suspect it’ll just be an alternate timeline that doesn’t necessarily tie into the first game, at least not with the Knight’s story. The Godmaster stuff makes this a possibility, and it prevents the issues that would arise with Silksong being a sequel or prequel.

If Silksong is a prequel, it makes Hornet’s limited abilities in the first game seem inconsistent. It also limits the ending of Silksong.

If Silksong is a sequel, it means they have to make an ending canon, or at least the sealed sibling ending can’t be canon.

I mean, who really considers Sealed Siblings ending to be canon? It's just an optional ending if you don't go for the real ending, Dream No More.

None. Silksong will likely be a chronological prequel as a result of this.

I think that even if the devs don't choose one specific ending, in my opinion the most complete is meant to be canon. If I had to choose one, I would bet on "Dream no More".

Dream no More ties up a lot of loose ends, but keep in mind that Embrace The Void does give us potentially 2 new antagonists.
(well, really just 1 new antagonist but you know what i mean)
