At the end, you gain very little, in fact just a small scene, that I will not spoil, but you can see it on youtube. The feeling of not being good on hard games turns into a great satisfaction, after beating this challenge.
And if you think this is the worst challenge of the game, it isn't. Pantheon of Hallownest is still the hardest one.
You think this kind of challenge isn't fun? Try Super Meat Boy, then. The entire game is based on perfectly timing platforming, and it isn't only one optional level. There are people that likes this kind of challenge for sure.
I've never seen someone complain that "I wanna kill the Camilia 3" is hard or unfun, even though it is probably the hardest game (and possibly most unfun) that I am aware of, but it makes it pretty clear that that is the whole point.
I've seen people complain about pettier stuff, like the watcher knights. Everyone has their own limits, and to some people, overcoming those is the entire satisfaction of playing.
I rather enjoyed PoP, even though it took me 3 hours and I suffered. I thought it was fun.
I don't think Gorb or Elder Hu are fun, albeit easy. Because they make you wait, without feeling challenged, and there is nothing I hate more than that. I never felt like I was forced to sit around unproductively in PoP. Every step was a step of me learning, or getting closer to completion.
Same here. I was at the very end of the path, and I almost quit the challenge, but I realized that I would have to begin from the very start again, then I forced myself a bit more until I finally could finish it. I don't intend to try it again though. One time is enough for me.
The issue is that I've done most of the game. I really don't have much left except repeat playthroughs and maybe that steel soul challenge. Obviously I haven't done everything else in my current playthrough, but sooner or later I'm gonna have to come back when there's nothing left.
Also thanks for the recommendation I will not be buying or playing super meat boy.
I mean gratz I guess? I'm glad you guys enjoyed it at least, but I doubt that's going to change my mind on it.
You fool, I have already inb4ed. Take your L and begone!
I mean I'm gonna give it another go, but I honestly don't understand the obsession with difficulty. Like the reason I picked up games like DS and Hollow Knight was because they just felt like cool games not because I wanted to be a dude bro and complete them for bragging rights.
Yeah I'm gonna kill myself.
