So yeah, your money is gone.
(Edit: Also, don't necro, please)
rancid eggs can be used to call your lost soul to you. helpful if you're in a tight spot.
you need to use a simple key to unlock the door at the far right side of the town of Dirtmouth. that gives you access to a npc that will summon your lost soul to that location, in exchange for a rancid egg.
Lucky for you, geo can always just be farmed. It's just a matter of dedication.
There is also technically a bank in the game that allows you to store some geo which will persist no matter how many times you die. She is Millibelle the Banker, stationed at the bottom of the Fog Canyon, or to the left of the Queen's Station (top left sub-area of Fungal Wastes). But you won't find her of much help as there's a max storage cap of 4,500 geo. Did I say 4,500? Because I actually meant 2,500, as putting in more than that will ensure it closes permanently later as she takes your money and runs away. You can find her later in another area and beat the money out of her (without killing her ofc) and apparently with interests too, but the bank service will remain closed for the rest of the game iirc. So if you have to use it, make sure to withdraw frequently so the amount in the bank never exceeds 2,500, which by late game, is more or less an insignificant amount to grind for hence why I said it isn't really helpful.
Lastly, if you have no idea where your shade is or if its location is way too tricky (sometimes it's spawned in hazard zone that you can't get to without dying and too far to lure it out to kill), there's another mechanic to safeguard against this problem. Acquire a Simple Key and get to Dirtmouth and run all the way to the right and you'd find a cave that open-able with a Simple Key. Once you do and enter it, Confessor Jiji will be awakened. Satisfy his requirement, which should be easy to fulfill if you explore properly and he will summon your shade into the cave to kill at your leisure with nothing around to distract you.
But really, just be careful about getting to the shade and not die before reaching it, you will never lose money. And even if you did, farming geo comes easy in this game towards the end where there's a place dedicated to earning lots of money. You'll know when you see it. That's where you go and grind geo in late game.
Don't sweat too much over geo. It's a fake stake.
...........
EDIT: Wait, f***. This is a necro.
You know you can delete messages right ?
Especially a spoiler like that.
Telling players that there's a bank in the game and its very limited mechanics is not spoiling anything. Even the "plot twist" is so minor it shouldn't even really need a spoiler mask, which I might add, I've put on anyway. Let's be real, elaborating mechanics are NOT spoilers and tiny, throwaway, and inconsequential joke side plot points really are not on anyone's radar for spoiler alert (which once again I might add, I did put on the spoiler mask).
