Got the city crest, still nowhere i can go

now what do i do? the only place with a slot is by the forgotten roads and nothing happens when i go near it nor can I use the item, and everywhere is blocked off or needs a double jump

Go to the left of the boss fight area into the next room. There will be many bones, and keep going up. You'll know what to do from there.
After that, check out the north east end of Crossroads where the blocked path is/was.

The city crest will not be used very soon in the game. It's not used end-game, but you'll have to clear a few areas first. It will be pretty obvious when you need it. Until then, don't worry about it.

The city crest is used in the third area of the game. For now, just grab the Vengeful Spirit spell, as that is your ticket out of Forgotten Crossroads
PLEASE don't call it "forgotten roads" thats painfully inaccurate XD

I've been watching a youtuber play the game and he always refers to the City of Tears as "Hallownest" and that is driving me crazy ^^
