can I play Hollow Knight with dualshock 4?

i play with a ps4 controller and i use ds4 (the application or whatever that lets u use the ps4 controller) but i've also seen some people have trouble with controllers in general so idk

I own both a DS4 and DS3 controller, the DS4 controller works as it should.
The DS3 works fine too, but I need to emulate it as an Xbox 360 controller for Windows to detect it.

Go to steam->settings->controller->the first button from the top, from there activate the ps4 controller adapter, and then you can play every steam game with that controller!
Also if it doesn't work you can always ask for a refund: if you played a game for less than 2 hrs and bought it in the last 14 days you can ask for a refund and steam will give it to you(unless you used it way too much).

Yes you can. I bought a dual shock 4 a week ago because of this game. It works flawlessly.

I have dualshock controller and it works perfectly. There is a option for leagacy controller or something in game which lets me use dualshock controller

Best comment I have read on STEAM in roughly ten years of having an account. Thanks a million. I never knew this feature existed. Why does STEAM have more in depth PS4 controller options than the freaking PS4 itself has?

I don't think it matters, the game's been through a number of updates since 4 years ago. Try checking for more recent threads in the Troubleshooting section. I believe there have been some discussions about controller issues I haven't had time to keep up with. If you're not on it already, I thought I saw something about the latest version fixing some controller issues that recently came up, but I could easily be remembering that wrong.
