Perhaps Dash- and Sprint- master charms would help a bit.
But I think it's only about careful timing of dashes (or using short jumps or just fall->dash). Also check if there is an alternate path (e.g. maybe presses are timed so that you can go only in one direction)
Edit: the peak ability won't help with presses , if memory serves me right.
And no, Crystal Dash won't help. Just timing.
This is probably the best advice you’re going to get; the smashing sounds in the background are just that: background noise. Since all the smashers go at different rates, an acurate sound wouldn’t be very distinguishable, so the sounds usually won’t match up with the pillars. In fact, it may be a good idea to mute the game entirely while doing this part so you don’t accidentally go at the wrong time.
For this set, you need to dash past the first one like normal (time it and dash when it goes up). For the second one, the one with a slightly higher platform and coming down more slowly, you actually dash first, hit the wall, then quickly jump over the wall before the smasher comes down on you. It's slightly counterintuitive, but if you jump first then dash, you will hit the side of the smasher every single time and die as it falls onto you.
I have no idea which set of smashers you're stuck on, but all of the other ones, just follow the advice of those posted above me. Dash as it goes up. If you have slower reaction timing then most, you can almost press the dash button as the smasher hits the floor. But if your timing is not too bad, you should be fine hitting dash as it goes up . Hope that helps.
Thank you so much! I got frustrated (had the little shade song playing in my head on repeat) and did the first trial in the colosseum of fools. I'm now heading back to crystal peak and will be sure to keep this advice in mind!
I'm probably going to mute the game bc I can't help but use the sounds as cues TT . TT
Another thanks^^ I'm stuck on the lower one. I ended up glitching through the upper one by just getting past the first three then jumping up and using the long nail charm to hit the grub through the floor without having to go past anymore smashy walls. I'll probably do the upper one all the way through eventually but for now its the lower one that's killing me.
This is helping after 20+ trying I understand the movement haha
Maybe equip Grubsong so you'll regain some soul and have more chances to heal between pistons?
It's very easy to be hit by the piston while trying to get to this very little space before the dash, if go you step farther than you should, but I did it this way.
The sound of the game was muted, and I equiped the charms Grubsong and Sprintmaster to go to this area.
When I posted the other day, I left this area in Crystal Peak before going through all the pistons and I didn't yet have the Hiveblood charm that day. This charm is very helpful, though the harder piston, for me, is the third, after the one between unleveled ground.
