Grey Mourner quest and Dream Gate

I've finished game before Hidden Dreams DLC, so I've never actually used Dream Gate ability. Now I wonder about possibilities this game grants to player.

What if I just place ability "beacon" near traitor's child grave, go to Grey Mourner, agree for quest, and then teleport back to beacon? Will that work? Or there are some limitations to do that? Or will flower just shatter? Anyone tried that?

It'll break. Yes, it's not said explicitly that you can't warp, because warp wasn't in the game when the quest was written. But, I'm sure you're not surprised it won't work.

You can however use it to quickly return for a new flower if you get hit. Much faster than walking back, and still more than a little bit faster than exiting and continuing.

Since your question got answered I will give you a short advice how I beat the quest...

Place a gate at the quest givers house.. and use the city of tears-fungal route.

You will face some mobs but you can just ignore them. Use for the queens garden mobs some spells for a saver way.

Once you are right before the dorns.. utilize your dash skills.

If you do the quest before killing the last kin..you also can go the crossroads fungal route.

Well, I've beaten it long ago in a common way. Just was wandering if devs resolved this "lifehack".

What does the last kin have to do with this quest? I used a route with crossroads after killing last kin.

The flower will break after the teleportation, however the dream gate reduces the difficulty of the flower quest a lot. Firstly put the gate beside the house, then walk there and kill all the mobs you can see. Don't be afraid to be hurt, just go on even the flower is broken. When you reach the place, teleport back and get a new flower. Then walk the route again, this time there's only some small mobs in the way, so you can easily finish the quest.
As for the route, I prefer crossroad - fungus - garden, this is the safest and second shortest route.
Remember: DO NOT sit on chairs during the route, even when you teleport back to the house.

I think what TyresTyco means is that after killing the Broken Vessel the Crossroads will become infected and more dangerous. Though in that case you need to do the flower quest before you defeat any of the Dreamers as well.
