The Weaver's Den Creature.
As many of you may already know, upon your first (and only first) visit's end; an alive spider like creature appears. It stands still. Motionless until you get closer. Than, it instantly flees. I have never actually tried to kill it myself since it simply didn't look killable. But seeing this made me want to re-think the case. http://i.imgur.com/ZrlAJ3A.jpg
The Weaver can be seen among many other enemy sprites. This wouldn't have been any suspicious if it wasn't for the fact that... these are all from the Hunter's Journal. All of these sprites. And so I'm calling out to the Hollow Knight community in seek of help.

Have any of you managed to kill it? Have you tried? Is it possible?

IIRC when I tried to hit it yesterday there was zero hitbox. Will pay attention the next time I run to it since Radiance thought it was cool to toast my Steel Soul run.

So many beautiful buggies...

I suppose you could try nuking her from afar with a Soul blast.
The Weaver has no hitbox. Currently she serves no purpose other than to implore you to investigate The Weaver's Den more.
These Weavers supposedly were assigned by Herrah to raise her adopted daughter, since she couldn't do it herself besause Herrah had the whole "Dream Guardian" duty to attend to.

Personally, I didn't want to stay in the Weaver's Den after seeing her, I wanted to chase after her and try and find her somewhere else. But yeah, I can see it as a way of saying that there's more to the place than meets the eye.

I was saddened to exit the Den only to find it didnt actually walk out of it. Was expecting some short chase scene to either lead me to what would be Herrah or another area/item.

But there is always the Hornet DLC to expand upon that place, Grimm already did a great job of that, so we will see in due time.
The description of the Weaversong charm implies that the Weaver left Hallownest entirely.
"Silken charm containing a song of farewell, left by the Weavers who departed Hallownest for their old home..."

Strange that this "song" charm doesn't seem to interact with either Grubsong or Carefree Melody...

I could try and look through the game files to see if there is a journal entry. It might take a while since the enemies have different names in the game files than they do in the journal.

Though its also possible that if it had an inaccessable entry, it might have been removed, as there was a patch a ways back that removed unused assets from the game to make it run better.
Such examples of things removed in that patch include a bench room in Weaver's Den, an underwater area below the Lake of Unn, some scrapped enemy designs, a scrapped area called the Forest of Bones, etc.

EDIT: It doesn't seem to have an entry. Though I might have missed it.

Hmm, that's all pretty interesting stuff. Is there anything to download to be able to read the files or ..?

dnSpy is able to read to DLL files. I find you the link if your interested.

Here's the Github page, and the pre-built download:

The game data is located in the Assembly-CSharp.DLL file, which is in the Managed folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed

I mainly use dnSpy to edit certain charm costs and some of the journal kill requirements.
