Help with "Helix Mod 3D Fix"
I've been trying to get this mod working forever now, to no avail. I just would like to be able to disable some of these annoying visual effects, mainly Depth of Field and Motion Blur.
I can't figure out why its not working, the mod is in the right place, I have the 3D fix manager, but I'm at a loss.

Is it to much to ask Team Cherry to add image effect settings in the game?

Whenever I try to load the game with the Helix Mod, it just makes a weird sound, and the game fails to boot up.

It's likely a problem with Steam, and not the game. I know people who got the game off of GOG and it works for them.

So there is no way to fix it?

If it's a problem with Steam, try skipping Steam and launching it directly. Right click on Hollow Knight in your library, then go to browse local files. You should see "hollow_knight.exe".
Even with all instances of Steam closed, if you try to start up the game via local files, it'll start up Steam too until it shows the 'Preparing to launch Hollow Knight' and then the same error happens.

WHY STEAM!? WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US!?
Seriously, it is really frustrating that Steam feels the need to do this.

If there is a way to bypass Steam, I am all ears.

I don't know what Steam checks for in the files before giving off that error noise... But maybe if there was a way to disable the said visual effects through editing the pre-existing game files, it won't give off that error noise.
Too bad I have no knowledge about this game's files or where the DoF settings are in them.

I have tried that aswell, I tried deleting depth of field from the DLL, It didn't work so reverted the dll back to normal.
Is there a steam launch option for disabling DoF and other image effects?
What would happen if I moved HK's folder? I mean, if its not in the steam folder, will it bypass the issue?

I attempting moving the folder and all to my desktop when trying to bypass Steam, the same stuff happened as with launching it from the .exe inside Steam's folder.

So moving the HK folder up to the "Program Files (x86)" folder will not change anything? What about removing the Steam APIs from HK?
Then again, its only about 6 days till the update... Maybe they'll decide to add native options for image effects.

I haven't tried because I know games usually don't work with Steam_API.dll and such missing. Feel free to try and give an update on how it goes, though.
The APIs are in (Steam) common ==> Hollow Knight ==> hollow_knight_Data ==> Plugins
