You said you have over 2k essence and only just got the dreamgate. You need to keep talking to the Seer til you get a window that says AWAKENED DREAM NAIL which requires 1800 but she has like 10 different requirements for stuff between 1 and 1800 and can only get one at s time . Then you can nail the kingsmould

And no, the journal doesn't need to be completed for the palace. Nor 100%. Just an achievement
