Hollow Knight 1.2.1.3 available in Beta. Linux and Mac coming soon
Hi everyone,

Hollow Knight version 1.2.1.3 is now available for Windows users on the beta branch.

To access the beta branch, right-click on 'Hollow Knight' in your Steam library and select 'Properties'. In the Properties window, select the 'BETAS' tab then in the drop-down menu select 'public-beta-'

If you encounter any errors in the beta build, please let us know here. If all goes well, we'll push the build live tomorrow.

Patch Notes:
- Fixed issue where Collector’s jars did not spawn enemies
- Fixed potential soft-lock in late-game hidden area
- Fixed issue where backtracking in a late-game hidden area could warp you to a completely different location
- Fixed Russian display issue s
- Fixed missing button icon
- In certain scenes, charm effects will not display (eg. Glowing Womb, Defender’s Crest)
- Watcher Knights can now be damaged by spells while rolled up (seems fairer, right?)
- Fixed issues with Grimmchild targeting things incorrectly
- Fixed issue where Glimmback could get stuck in place
- Fixed a potential issue where players could be permanently locked out of Ancestral Mound after Crossroads become infected
- Additional effects during Grimmkin battles
- Fixed Flame Pin display issue on map
- Sped up process for opening inventory
- Effects changes

As an update on Mac and Linux versions: We had some issues with our build machine so we're a bit behind schedule, but as long as this beta build is all good we'll have Mac and Linux builds up in the next day or so. Sorry for the delay, and thanks for bearing with us!

Can u please fix the bug where the hollow knight boss become invisible regardless I close and open it back countless times.This method work on other boss but not this one.

Could you fix the issue that actually matters: the game is too difficult. I'm getting really fed up on walking back to the hard boss fights. Any chance for an easy mode?

at least you get to play the game - been waiting 3 days to get this thing, but yea no - you have the real problem.:steamsalty:

It's a metroidvania, you know you can just go the other way and come back to a boss fight later on.

I know. I've pretty much exhausted the map, nothing else but the damn bosses remaining. Or farming money for items :P I did that a lot when playing Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. I guess I'm getting burned on this game type (Hollow Knight is basically a 2D version of those games).

I have one question, now that you can get the game to 106%, is it intentional that this has decreased the difficulty of 100% achievements exponentially?, are you guys going to do something for this or it was simply a decision made by you guys?

So, ever since 1.2.1.3, I have been unable to fight NKGrimm, he simply does not spawn after his title card. I tried closing and relaunching, crystalling in, dashing in, walking in, seeing if any certain charm i had on was causing it, but he wont spawn no matter what.

Last measure was using another save file of mine i have saved for Steel Soul to refight first grimm fight. worked way up to NKGrimm and it sitll wouldnt work. Rolled back to 1.2.1.0 and NKGrimm does indeed activate as normal.

Not sure at all what could be causing it

We're looking at adding some new % completion achievements with the next (final) content pack: For now though we'll leave the 100% achievements as they are.

Hey, thanks for reporting this. We've put in a fix, should all be working in next patch.
