Dream Shield Question

Can someone with a non-upgraded nail check how many hits it takes for Dream Shield to kill a Husk Dandy for me? (Or anything really, just let me know what enemy you used, I'm trying to find out if it does nail damage or set damage and Husk Dandies have the right hp to survive a hit from anything but a pure nail)

it one-shots husk dandies for me, and it seems to take the exact amount of hits to kill every other enemy as pure nail does as well. fragile/unbreakable strength doesn't seem to affect its damage though : /

Do you have Pure Nail? I've tested it with all that stuff and it does either 20 or 21 damage for me (Not sure which) So I was curious if it did the same damage if the nail isn't fully upgraded. (Dandies have 20 hp, pure nail does 21 and one level daown does 17 so they'd survive if it's nail damage)

I’m trying to get damage numbers for all the new charms, but I don’t have a file without the Pure Nail so I can’t check that easily myself.

Seems like it's nail damage. Checked with the chanelled nail and it takes 14 hits on big sentries in city of tears both by nail and shield.

I've found this works good as part of a tank build against anyone who doesn't do double damage:

dreamshield
grubsong
thorns of agony
quick focus
stalwart shell

Just jump in, dreamshield hits, get a few nail strikes off, take a hit and exchange with thorns of agony, and then get a guaranteed heal off while dreamshield recovers and hits again.

Anyone else know of any other good charm combos with dreamshield? I'm finding it to be the most useful of the new charms.

And yeah, I do have pure nail. Haven't tried it with a lower class nail yet.

Also, having Dream Wielder on increases its size, but does it also increase the damage?

Nevermind, just tested it with a once upgraded nail, can confirm it does 1x your nail dmg, and Dream Wielder doesn't give it bonus dmg.

Hmm, seems like damage done by the Dreamshield is considered a magic attack, as I was able to hit the laser shooting bugs in crystal peak you cannot harm with your nail. (Crystal Crawlers)
Also, I tested Fragile/Unbreakable Strength and Fury of the Fallen, but they don't seem to increase the damage of the Dreamshield, as I was able to kill some bugs I wasn't able to kill in one hit without them with my nail, but not with the Dreamshield.

Hmm, I wonder if Shaman Stone affects it if it’s considered a magic attack.
But yeah, so far I haven’t found any way to increase the damage from either Dream Shield or Weaversong. They both seem static, not counting upgrading your nail of course.

I don’t know if it will be ‘good’ per se, in fact it’ll probably fail horribly, but once I conquer Grimm I am going to attempt the Coliseum with an entirely passive build: Dream Shield + Defender’s Crest + Glowing Womb + Weaversong + Grimmchild + Thorns of Agony/Dream Wielder. See how far I can get without swinging my nail or casting a spell.

I doubt Shaman Stone would work, you can damage those bugs with spore shroom and/or defender's crest too, and those don't work with Shaman Stone

Yeah, after some testing, it seems the only charms interactions with the new charms are Dashmaster + Sprintmaster and Dream Shield + Dream Wielder. Grimmchild and Weaversong seem unaffected by other charms. (Don’t know about Carefree Melody.)
