How do you prevent Cloth from dying in the Traitor Lord boss fight?
I've tried over and over again fighting the traitor lord but she always dies, is her death inevitable or do i need to upgrade to pure nail first?

The only way to keep Cloth alive is to face the Traitor Lord before you rescue her in the Ancient Basin. If she shows up in the fight then it's already too late to save her.

Dang, that's too bad. Oh well, ty for commenting.

Yeah, it's a little obtuse. As far as I know the other wanderers will show up in places in any order, so having the only way to keep one alive be to not go to one specific location out of order is a little strange.

Idk, I think it makes sense that she only dared to challenge the traitors after the player gave her 'courage' in Ancient Basin.

It does make sense, my only issue is that as far as I know it's the only situation where the order is set. Most of the time they just show up when you reach somewhere they can be.

Though now that I think about it That may not be correct. I think maybe that is just how final encounters work. Quirrel will only show up at Blue Lake after Monomon and I believe Tiso won't leave town until you talk to him.so you can't find him at the Coliseum until then. Same with Zote, who won't be at the Coliseum until you've saved him in both locations.

It still feels different than all the other ones, but I guess it really isn't. Either way I wish it was a little clearer that you can even save her. I didn't think it was possible on my first go and only learned because I didn't take the time to save her when I speedran the game for the achievements.

If it makes you feel better, I think Cloth was seeking death. If you speak to her ghost after the fight, on the second conversation she says she will "be on her way soon because Nola is waiting". However, if you let her live, and dream nail in her town, her thoughts are "Nola, I'm coming. More challenging foes are out there, somewhere, but none in this ruin could take me to you."

So she died the warriors death she wanted, and was reunited with "Nola" at the end of things.

I don't want to encourage necros, but I must say I love seeing ones like this where someone's post was so helpful that people are thanking them years later. Well done, Esoteric Lord. :)
