Thanks. I figured they probably thought of this. Does seem kind of strange that you can ride the tram without damaging the flower, but I'm not complaining.
The whole quest is an annoyance already because of how butt-clenching some of the areas [Queen's Garden especially] are to get through without taking damage even if you've cleared the path ahead of time. If they didn't want you completely cheesing the quest, they could have simply made Queen's Garden one of the areas not 'inkable', so rather than dropping one right outside the stag station or the grave spot, you gotta still go from one of the entrances. Heck, I'd have made Dream Gate one of the *last* abilities you get, even after awakening the Dream Nail. It'd make sense given that the reward for this quest is likely one of the last collectibles you'll be grabbing in a run, and the Dream Gate only seems to really shine in endgame collection cleanup.
