Maybe its just leftover assets from some idea on alpha, or whatever, como to think about it, HK has a lot of unique areas with unique things in the background, here and there.

Im thinking the hornet DLC, since Hornet is the daughter of the Beast. Maybe it's the thing that "made" her? :P

I tried casting a spell on my 100% profile, but it shows a barrier similar to the white palace guardian when you dreamnail him before you can actually access white palace. I have an inkling feeling that it may be linked to steelsoul mode given its design and stuff. Perhaps someone with a steelsoul profile could try? I dunno, just speculating.

Well yes, but i always assumed the king took a child of the void and it was processed/gendered in her words to be more like the beasts? (explaining the thread, she's part spider thing)

I feel like this was the old area for the giant spider that was cut before release, they didn't want the room to go to waste so they made it into that probably.

There's a few mysterious corpses of creatures in the game. I feel it's just there as atmosphere. I doubt there's much lore about it since the devs created tons of models for the game without having a story behind them.
