Stuck in Mantis Village?
I've just hit the bench that's in mantis village but I think I've missed an ability somewhere because I seem to be compeltely stuck. All the paths branch of into areas where I need to be able to walljump and I can't jump back up the way I came either. Really not sure what I need to do.

You dont need wall jump, just some pink mushroom jump skills. you need to go up and left to get to the actual mantis village.

he defeated the mantis " kings or what", therefore they let him in to a bench area where he can rest, he dashed his way in there, but he needs walljump to get out

I think you might be able to get out still. After you kill the mantis lords they will let you through the deep nest. Immediatley through the door, there's a way to go back to the fungal wastes by goign up. If you can't take that route... You won't be able to take a very sane route. So uh... have fun. But it will involve a lot of bouncing off of enemy heads to get to the Failed Train station and grab the train pass. Run back down to the bench near the hotsprings (there shooould be an alternative path) and keep going right to get to the train station. Take the ♥♥♥♥♥ to the Abyss something go to the left, of the map and you will encounter a boss that will give you double jump. Which... might be good enough to bail you out. If not... you can always take the train to kings path and find your way to the stag station. You won't need wall jump to get through.

If you think I don't know the pain, I do. There's been a ♥♥♥♥ load of areas I went to that I couldn't get out of the easy way. Because the game just lets you do so sometimes. Usually it involved bouncing off of enemy heads and taking damage to get flung to unsequence break.

You can literally not get to that bench without a wall jump. He clearly means the other bench to the right.

That's weird. The lever that open the access to Mantis Lords area requires walljumping ability.

Do you mind posting a pic of your location?

Yeah you can't get there unless you pogo on flying enemies.

If he used that method he should be good enough to escape back :P

I'm having the same issue, I don't seem to know where the boss for mantis village but I've just hit the area where you can get the Dash-master Charm but the Jumps are too high for me to jump out. The Pink Bouncy things don't seem to go any further and the areaa i came in from all have too high jumps. I only have dash and can't seem to reach it.

You definitely need wall jump+dash to get to the Mantis Lords, as the lever to open the floor is beyond a spike puzzle. Even pogo on enemies heads would't get you there

I think he is talking about the the bench close to the Dashmaster right up the entrance for the Royal Waterways.

You gonna have to go up, use the mushrooms to get midroom, there will be a door to the left guarded by a mantis, you will enter the Mantis Village, go all the way to the end and hit the lever, get back, get up on the platform and follow til the end again where the door opened, you will get the Mantis Claw up there

The purple mushrooms are a bit tricky, but you can easily get out of the area where you got the Dashmaster, I picked it up before Mantis Claw and got off without hassle (aside the fights). Just remember to hit the murshrooms with the sword facing down for a higher jump and chain it with the other mushrooms.

Speaking of sword pogoing, you can almost get the Monarch Wings from The Abyss by hopping across the spikes, but you ultimately do need the crystal dash because the wall caves inward and you can't just cheese your way up

If you're stuck in the section of mantis village where you can obtain the charm of Dash-Master and connection to Royal Waterways, If you head up and left there is a section where you can jump and dash across to get out,

You can get the Monarch Wings without Crystal Heart. Pogo all the way to the end, die, and the phantom will spawn on top of that ledge. You can then lure it out of there by shooting it with Vengeful Spirit, and use the phantom to pogo yourself up there.

I guess spirit pogoing is a great unintended trick for sequence breaking. I'd better get good at that.
