4k issues

So I just recently hooked my tv up to my samsung UN55KU7000FXZA and its set to native 4k resolution in windows but when i change it in game from 1080p it reverts back to 1080p every time. Other games work just fine so I'm wondering if it's just this game? Anybody got any tips?

p.s. i have a normal 144hz 1080p monitor i use too, but i have the TV set as the main monitor

I'm not sure this will work but you can try the following:

1. Enable fullscreen and exit the game
2. Search for "regedit" in start menu, run it
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight

Find the entries:
Screenmanager Resolution Height_h2627697771
and
Screenmanager Resolution Width_h182942802

in each of them, change the value to Decimal and enter desired resolution (UIltraHD is 3840 × 2160, 4k full frame is 4096 × 3072)

Then try to start the game. I doubt it will work but worth a shot.

In order to restore resolution back just change the value to 1920x1080

i'm curious as well. does this game support 4k or no? and if not, can I manually force the game into doing it like how Kein suggested above

Try to launch it with:
hollow_knight.exe -screen-height 3840 -screen-width 2160 -screen-fullscreen

don't forget to replace values to yours specific

launch options dont seem to work, i could set this to 500x500 and it would still launch at default 720p. ive even swapped monitors from 1920x1080 to a 4k monitor instead of a 4k tv to see if that was the issue and the 4k moniotor would always default back to 1440p. seems to be an issue with 4k, has anyone been able to run this game on 4k?

doesn,t work for 1280 x 1024

Sadly it seems we're both in a sticky situation, because my monitor is 5:4 to (Aka 1280x1024) If I find something, I can report back to you.
