Hollow Knight 1.0.2.6 live on public beta. Mac and Linux available!
1.0.2.6 is now live on beta branch, which contains some bug fixes, improvements and also includes builds for both Mac and Linux for testing.

When selecting a beta branch, you'll see the following options and choose the correct one for your system:

Windows PC: public-beta
MAC OSX: beta-osx-
Linux: beta-linux-

French is also included as a language option, currently also in beta. Note that some symbols in French are showing up as squares because of missing glyphs in the font. We're aware of this and will get it fixed up in next patch.

As always, if you encounter a bug, please submit it through to http://hollowknight.com/bugs

Patch Notes:
- Fixed an issue where dying just as you defeat your Shade could produce some odd results.
- Fixed an issue where Giant Hoppers ignored damage-over-time effects such as spores.
- Fixed soft-lock issue that could occur before fighting Broken Vessel.
- Improved hitbox on Broken Vessel projectiles (don’t worry, we made them more lenient).
- Fixed issue where a lift could stretch out player’s x-scale temporarily.
- Fixed issue where player couldn’t pause during first fight with a late-game boss
- Fixed Grub Mimic persistence issue.
- Fixed issue with Shade spawning underground in a certain area
- Fixed an NPC name display bug
- Fixed an issue with Vengeful Spirit dissipating incorrectly
- Fixed an issue where a blank dialogue could cause a soft-lock
- Fixed an issue where Flukemarm was invulnerable to Scream spell
- Fixed an enemy damage effect display issue
- Improved recycling system for certain effect objects
- Minor map fixes
- Additional sound improvements
- Minor Game Text fixes

I chose the public beta for Linux but can't install the game. Think you guys need to enable the in store support for OSX/Linux or we will get a message saying the platform isn't supported.

Choose beta-linux- , not public-beta.

That's what I did...

Yes I meant beta Linux. I believe beta OSX should be having the same problem. We can't install the game to begin with because the store is listed as supporting only Windows.

Beta osx worked for me, but then again I dl'd it the day it was released. Hmmm.

By 'spawning underground in a certain area', do you mean that bug that occurs when fighting Radiance, and your soul ends up in the City of Tears?

Sadly, the Linux beta isn't working because we can't install the game yet.

Still can't start new game, difficulty selection just gets overlapped by scale settings.

I'll be glad to provide any info if it may help

Hi, I'm playing on my 2009 MBP and the game won't let me change the resolution. It defaults to 1440x900, but when I try to change it, whether I select yes or no on the confirmation dialogue it goes back to 1440x900. I'm getting like 20fps with particles off so I'm really hoping to squeeze that extra bit of performance out. Let me know if you want any other info!

Update: I can change it in windowed mode, but it switches back to the max resolution if I change to fullscreen

PS - I totally love this game, it's incredible.

Can confirm that linux beta is not available even with 'beta-linux-' option selected: http://imgur.com/a/FEqDO

After I restarted steam, beta selection went back to 'NONE'

Hmm, according to the SteamdDB, Linux depot is available only for 'Hollow Knight Developer Comp' package - https://steamdb.info/depot/367523/subs/ . Maybe that is why we don't have access to the game.

Wow! Nice sleuthing!

I'll see if I can look into this myself, but the team obviously won't be able to right now because (I am sure) they are still sleeping. ;)

Hey, i play on:

mac mini (end 2014)
osx el capitan 10.11.6
intel core i5 2,6ghz
8go ram
intel iris 1536mb (gpu)

The game run well. Micro freeze sometimes, like pc version. but for now after 3/4h it's good for a beta.

I tried downloading the linux beta using wine Steam - that didn't work either (only gave me the win32 exe even though it was possible to selected "linux beta").

No idea how Steam is supposed to work...

Is there any way to force download this with "steamcmd" (which I can't currently get running because the install script is an abomination) or something?

Looking forward to test this one on Linux, bought it because it stated a public beta. Atm there seems no way to install though. The option Public beta Linux is available but to install you need to be on a "supported system". Lets hope there is a fix for this soon.
