How to enter the abyss?

I've been to prety much every area but this one. I Just cant seem to figure out how to open the door that leads to the abyss. Can anyone help?

Go explore Kingdom's Edge.

Pretty much what ^ said. Explore Kingdom's Edge fully and then you should be good to go to the abyss.

Thank you HighLanderPony and Kypt for he spoiler free advice here. I wish someone would make a bare bones, open in case of emergency walk thru for this game. This is the second time I've had to reach outside of my own game experience for help. Much appreciated.

Np, glad I could help! Wouldn't worry much about looking things up, lots to do in this game and some of it is pretty well hidden. It's fine to look things up, especially when you've already looked everywhere yourself. GLHF!

But.... no. King's Brand is required for opening the door to the Abyss. You're thinking ofthe birthplace inside the Abyss, which requires Kingsoul to be equipped.
