White Palace does not follow dream rules
Casually let myself die in the White Palace thinking it followed the rules of the dream bosses (i.e. deaths do not count as deaths). Nope.

Rip my 90% complete Steel Soul run. So easily avoidable using Hiveblood if I had known :/

Because its a masochistic, evil, hell hole lol. I nearly drove myself mad getting through it last night.

You've made the game on normal before :/ so you can see that even on normal it was a dead ^^'

Steelmode work the same has normal. Except that one death is everything :/

I feel your pain, yet I can't help you with that...

Final True Boss fight does not follow dream logic either.

There must be a reason for that...

@Shadop White Palace is the only dream area with benches, so being sent back to a bench within the dream wasn't enough to make it click for me that I was dying for real in my normal run. Is there some other visual indication that separates dying to a dream boss from dying normally?

Anyway, I accept I was unobservant and don't claim I was cheated. But whether it was dumb of me or not, I just assumed that dying in the White Palace wouldn't count because I was in the dream. Now I know better.

When you die for real you lose your SOUL, Geo and your head icon will be broken, only allowing you to fill it 2/3 the way up.

Despite many deaths, I don't remember ever getting my soul back in the White Palace. I guess I was just super unobservant? If so, that does make my mistake much more shameful. If the black soul guy doesn't spawn in the White Palace, that is some slight vindication for me.

... Am I the only one who had no trouble with white palace? I honestly found it one of the most fun areas in the game.

Maybe I'm wrong, been a while since I died in the WP 'cause I gave up on it for now. But that's what happens when you die outside of it.

When you die for real you lose your SOUL, Geo and your head icon will be broken, only allowing you to fill it 2/3 the way up.

But none of that happens in the Palace. I thought that the benches were just there for convenience, I'm also surprised to see they count as a "real" death

Thank you for confirming those signs of death don't happen in the White Palace!

I was really starting to question why I went into my Steel Soul run with no fear of dying in the White Palace. But if none of those signs of death occur in the "dream" of the White Palace, I feel my assumption that dying there would operate like dying to the dream bosses was very reasonable.

You should maybe post this is the Troubleshooting section.

HAs it seems White Palace follow half rules of normal mode and half of dream world... yeah it can surprise...

But maybe it's not intended ? You'll probably have more visibility from the dev's into the more specific section ^^
