What is overcharmed and how do you remove it from your status?

Just unequip the charm that overloads the notches.

That's so odd because I was unable to even overcharm, when I equipped a charm that would take me over it automatically unequipped it....

You have to repeatedly spam click the charm to force it into the slot.
