Missables?
I'm about to start the game, but wanted to check, any major missables(endings, secrets, whatever) I should know about before investing 30+ hours?

There's no missables except for one monster in a special place, you won't be able to fill your entry journal if you beat said place, because you can't enter again.

And the normal ending, because the steps you have to do for the true ending overwrites what you need to do for the normal ending.

That's all I guess. :)

There are no major missables. As Aletheia stated, you can miss out on the achievement for the regular ending if you unlock the true ending, but it's possible to do the regular ending first and then still proceed to the true ending on the same playthrough.

There are some minor character interactions, scenes, bits of lore, vendor trash and achievements that can be missed. Some are actually mutually exclusive, so you would require multiple playthroughs to get all achievements anyway.

Yup, so the only missable is that one monster you have to farm before you beat "that difficult area". But that's just for the Journal achievement, no big deal.

But other endings are doable, but you need to do the first ending before everything else :p

I'm most of the way through the game and I don't want to screw it up now ... and as far as I know there's no area I'm currently locked out of. Could you spoiler the name of the monster I need (... or needed) to farm?

Also, how do you get the first ending?

You simply beat the final boss without getting the Void Soul.

Thanks for this.
I'm pretty much a completionist and I never leave a single stone unturned with any kind of game, so this helps a lot.

there's one ending you can miss, one achievement you'll probably miss, and one pair of mutually-exclusive achievements.

...

I'm not sure if it's possible to miss the shopkeeper NPC. I know it's possible to just not find him, but idk if it goes from "I didn't find" to "it's impossible to find anymore". Might investigate whenever I feel like replaying.

I would love to know what monster you are talking about. Because, if it's about
crossroad transformation, all ancient monster can still be found in this place ;)

I'm close to kill all Dreamers. If I've got it right, first ending is achieved by killing Hollow Knight. But, does that mean, that I will be able to play further after doing this? Or will I just load game on bench?

I suppose, he is talking about White Palace as it is the only location you can't visit again after beating it. All crossroads mobs can be found in different locations

You will simply be able to reload your game from the last bench after beating it.

Yes there is an Arcane Egg in the left side blue room in the abyss. You need 15 blue health to enter the door. At the bottom you can go left or right. Left leads to an arcane egg, right to a charm. Once you pick up the charm YOU ARE LOCKED OUT FOR THE REST OF THE GAME! Make sure to grab the egg before picking up the charm.

It just gives you Geo and a little bit of text when sold. So it's not a necessary item. But just an FYI.

Yeah, this really ticked me off because I like to get all collectibles even if it's only trash.

Does anyone know if in the White Palace there is anything to the right of the throne room? When I was there it seemed like the door could be knocked away but I decided to check the king instead and that ended the dream sequence.

There is a stone tablet with some text. I don't remember what it said, sadly.
