Dream Boss in Steel Soul mode？

I try to get the 100% completion in steel soul mode, which means "you only live once".

In my first game round, when failed in dream boss fight(like the Failed Champion), I woke up near the boss in healthy status, seems that is not counting as death.

so... can anyone tell me what if I failed dream boss in steel soul mode? will it delete my save data forever?

I certainly don't want try this freaking mode more times....

Hmm I wondered about that, thanks OP, yeah you are in the dream so it makes sense that you don't "die", it's not your physical body I guess in that sense.

Deaths against Dream Bosses don't count as deaths. You just get thrown out of the dream instead and get to immediately retry it.
However, deaths in the White Palace do count. So be careful.

So basically you get hive blood and you're sorted, I guess the radiance also counts as a death, it would make sense since you have a shade when getting defeated.

Bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ whole forum. Death against dream bosses count as death in steel soul mode. Just played for about 5h and came to this forum search answer to this question and decided to defeat dream boss without proper equipment because "I'm not going to die against dream bosses". Well you can guess what happened.

Bosses in the dream world, genius. That includes Lost Kin, Failed Champion, White Defender, Grey Prince Zote, and Soul Tyrant, as well as any deaths in the Godmaster content; those all do not count as real deaths. Dying against the Dream Warrior bosses, the standard Radiance, and non-Godmaster Nightmare King Grimm will result in a real death.

Yeah i wish that somebody would have written your comment earlier in the forum because this quote above just generally says Dream bosses which means everything you hit with the dream nail. I am dumb, I admit that but dream warrior bosses aren't white palace bosses so of course i would assume that you can die against those as well. No need to reply. Just wanted to make things clear on this forum so some other idiot like me doesn't make same mistake as me.
