oh, so you can reload and get the flower back if you lose it?

Probably a good idea to minimize the amount of dangerous platforming.
I did - Tram to Forgotten Crossroads -> Greenpath -> Fog Canyon -> Queen's Gardens. Charm for attack power + range + mobility, remember you can't get hit so it doesn't matter if you overcharm.

I took the same path. I also ran it backwards first to kill the non-respawning enemies. Was pretty easy. Just use range spells on any enemies in the way

Something like that. If you close your game with Alt+F4 (or just close game window) game doesn't save, so you can launch game and load game from last bench. Abuse? Maybe. But as for me - this quest too foolish otherwise.

doing this now but i keep choking on spike vines like 3 jumps before the grave.

There are only one or two places that enemies might hit you. and 3 soul restores along the way.

Or just talk to the Mourner and get a brand new "unique and priceless" flower. I hear she has thousands

using the exploit SN.ap mentioned you could easily also take a detour for the Leg Eater bench and the Queen's Station one.

Or be intelligent for once and stop repeating the same fail tactic. Clear the enemies first.

You can literally kill every aggressive enemy from Queen's Garden to the Resting Grounds and then grab the flower and bring it back with NO ONE interfering. That's called intelligence. Enemies only respawn if they are the weak non-aggressive types or if you touch a bench. So murdering every enemy BEFORE doing the quest makes it a casual stroll through the park.

just do it legit, its not that hard. if you REALLY INSIST on "scumming", you could just rest at the nearest bench to the goal, go get the flower and save & exit, then load your save and youre at the nearest bench with the flower. BUT dont do it, just play as it was intended.

Best route I've done so far was :

Grab the flower, go through resting grounds to Blue Lake.
Blue Lake > Crossroads
Crossroads > Fog Canyon
Fog Canyon : Traverse past Teacher's Archives and go to Queen's Garden.
Then go straight to the tomb.

Murdering every enemy on the way was actually an intended method of clearing the quest. This game's been around for 2-3 years on youtube and the news. This specific quest was highlighted in a dev video where they talked about wanting to make a Metroidvania game that even casual players can beat. So when they talked about the Grey Mourner quest, hardcore players can just rush through avoiding damage while casual players can murder every creature and abuse the bench respawn mechanic. Similar to how hiveblood makes the White Palace cake or how many bosses can just be tanked through with a bunch of blue health bars and sword spam facetanking.

If you ever noticed the respawning passive enemies in every area, those were another attempt at making the game casual friendly. If you're ever low on health you can repeatedly screen transition to murder the same enemies to fill back up. Aggressive enemies don't respawn while these easy ones do. Meanwhile places like the Fungal Wastes have respawning solo bosses without going to a bench that drop lots of credits to again make casual farming cake.

First two times i did this quest as it intended, and both times i did get hit by vines in the last corridor because of stutter. So don't tell me about intellegence, i just give the alternative. If this dumb for you - ok, whatever, as if is matter something.

Same road here, success first try. But, success fourth try when i restart the game in steelsoul mode ^^
This road is easy, really. Be careful, slow, shaman stone equip to one shot some annoying monsters.
