Definately worth it.
Ori still has superior movement tech and smoother controls on keyboard/mouse in my opinion, but as people have noted above it's pretty short in comparison to Hollow Knight. Some people also dislike the fact there aren't bosses in Ori, something I personally enjoy. I consider Ori to be my casual "easily play in one session" metroidvania.
On the other hand, Hollow Knight has a lot more content and has a greater variety of enemies, with a focus on combat. If you're looking for a metroidvania that you can put hours upon hours into without running out of things to do, Hollow Knight is one of the best ones to come out recently.
Listen to this guy.
Those "instakill" minigames were actually quite fun and honestly didn't break the flow of the game for me. In fact, they made the game better for me, since I usually do terribly with bosses and Ori was not combat-oriented to begin with. Those escape sequences are nowhere near as hard as a good portion of the platforming in Hollow Knight and are almost completely skill-based, unlike most boss fights in other games (including Hollow Knight) where the attack they choose to do can be quite RNG-dependent. And I don't see how any part of Ori can be anything but 2d platforming, considering the game only plays in 2d...
But to each their own. In my opinion both Ori and Hollow Knight are masterpieces in their own ways. Ori for its movement tech and what it does instead of bosses (i.e. those escape sequences); Hollow Knight for its expansive world, characters, enemies, and collectibles.
manages to bring together what a great memorable game needs, upgrades ( though late game wandering around with 20k + $ is strange,, ) great characters, a interesting story, but if you just want to hack/slash your way through it you don't Need to pay any attention to the plot, it can be brutal, frustrating and supremely annoying, but then when you get past it a good sense of accomplishment ... Really glad i checked this one out... actually had a free copy but then bought it because i wanted it on steam / liked it that much, hopefully there will be some content / expansions in the future,, took me 35 hours or so to beat it 96% first time through, now on second full play i'm where i was at 20 hours in 4 or somthing rediculous ... but Still loving it..
