what to do with the bouncing mushrooms?

i am in fungal wastes but the two ways i can find toward the direction of the boss both have the bouncing mushrooms and i cant jump unto the next platform with them.NEED HELP

slashing as opposed to simply bouncing on them

You have to nail jump on them. You can do it with anything that can hurt you and certain background objects. Attack downwards when above something and it works like a second jump.

I feel so dumb now.. xD Had the same "problem". I was desperately trying to use them as a trampoline and time my jump aka pressing the jump button. ...mysteriously I sometimes would jump higher though o.O managed that 3 times, not sure how xD
didn'T look like i was quite touching the mushrooms though. was very strange.

TIL it's possible to slash downwards in this game (I've played for 15h)

That's probably why they showed downward slashing in almost all Steam Store Page Videos, and on the 5th video specifically on those mushrooms 🙂

Thank you, I was stuck on this for several hours, revisiting everywhere in the map trying to find where I needed to go. I played around with the mushrooms for a while, but never knew down slash was an available move.

o lmao i was spamming d to use the dream nail and get a glitch where the mushrooms didn't bounce me so i could jump to the next one ._.

You can also down-slash on metal spikes to bounce a little.

This is actually something the game just expects you to figure out. It's one of the things I would honestly change about the game, add a hint or something. Pogoing is mandatory for progression yet it's never actually explained. I spent hours trying every path other than those bounce mushrooms (even getting the dream nail before the mantis claw) until I asked a friend and he told me that you could just...slash down over them.
