How do trams work? (slight spoilers)

I just unlocked one by ancient basin but i dont know how it works. I know i can go to other stops but can i call it from wherever i am like the bug mobile (i forgot its name so bug mobile it is) or do i need more tickets?

It's infinite and you can access it from any of the stops, there's always a post there to call it, the tram pass description gives lore on why it's infinite.
