where do you go once you obtain the king's brand after you fight hornet the third time ?

It opens up an optional area at the bottom of the Ancient Basin, but you don't need it to complete the game.

You have to go down into the ancient basin and go to a door with the kings symbol on it. Located here (red dot) http://i.imgur.com/wMg1t5X.jpg

You get that in the area accessed via the King's Brand.

You get that ability in the next area after you open the door i mentioned.
