The Abyss door

There is what looks like a door in The Abyss, with a blue stone on a pedestal, when you "inspect" the stone it says "A deep blue stone atop a dais". Can this door be opened, is so how?

14 of the blue HP, you need both blue charms and possibly HP from those blue pods around the map, it has to be all at once

yay just turned in my Dream essences and got the 4th mask piece

Ok i'm sure you've gotten it by now, but for anyone else who comes in here, there's an easy remedy: Equip Fragile Heart and Blessing. Other blue charm if you haven't collected masks. This is the simplest way, otherwise you'll need to find blue pods around the map WITHOUT taking damage.

A word of warning; it's possible to miss an item behind this door without a second chance to retrieve it. This surprised me because it seems pretty uncharacteristic of this game.

The item only nets a few lines of monologue and some geo. If you think about it, there's lots of missable monologue and scenes in the game.

True, but are there other missable items you get sealed off from going back for? I can't think of any off the top of my head. It's not needed for achievements/completion/"finishing" a run, but if part of your enjoyment of the game comes from getting everything you can out of it that it has to offer, then it's kind of annoying to have to do it on a whole other save file, you know?
