City Of Tears Boss Tips?

make sure you have the nail upgrade, 6 hearts, the right badges equipped, buy more badge slots etc

I got the first nail upgrade. Where do I get more hearts? Do I need a third mask fragment for this (where is it?)

You can buy one fragment in the store, other one is unlockable after rescuing a girl near the mantis village and returning to the main town, dont remember where i got the third one, i think in the queen station after getting the mantis talon to climb walls. I killed him with the badget that gives you a shield while you focus and the one that gets you more energy per hit.

so badges that'd be useful, shield while focus, soul catcher, thorns and spore shroom

that's with 6 badge slots, if you manage to get 2 more (and you can by that point, just takes a lot of money) fallen fury or spell twister might be useful

He's fairly straightforward - stay next to the right side wall (where you enter his area). Don't try to atack him a lot - wait for a good moment (when he surrounds himself with 4 orbs and moves towards you or when he just charges at the entrace, he will stop before reaching it btw so u'r safe right at the door).
When he launches fireballs the fact that you are near the wall makes they disappear really fast without following you around much.
When he teleports above you to slam into the gound just jump on the wall and slide down (the manis claw thing), if he cancels and starts the slam again just do a little hop and get higher on the wall again (be careful not to hit the spikes on top of that wall).
Phase 2 is fairly straightforward just run and dodge on the ground and hit him from time to time.

If you stay directly under him, he can't hurt you with his hurling projectiles, while you can unleash plenty of upward attacks at him. Just stick close at all times, he can't do anything if you hug him.

Dash jump over fireballs towards him, then hit him once or twice from below.
Fireball shield: just jump through below him when he moves from one side to the other, then just stand at around 2/3 of the room and wait till the fireballs are gone. Good time to heal if you need to.
Smash from above: dash away to either side. When you're already moving just don't stop, no dash needed.

How do you get more badget slots?

you can find one before that point, i cant remember where

and you can buy more from the badge shop, bottom right of the cross roads

and another tip, you can also get a soul upgrade before this boss

can buy one shard, can find another two

It's actually fairly easy to evade his attacks.
