MAJOR frame stuttering
Getting some really bad performance on a GTX 1080 and an i5-4570. Task Manager shows the game is using 70% of my CPU on just the main menu. I get massive frame stuttering all the time during gameplay -- somtimes triggered by attacks or particles, but often just happening randomly. Seems to have gotten worse over the hour I was playing -- from not happening at all to so bad I can't even play.

I'm looking in nVidia control panel, I can't figure out if there's a way to see if this game is for some dumb reason using my intel integrated graphics instead of the GPU maybe? I would imagine if others were getting performance THIS bad, it would be filling up the forums and reviews with compalints.

[edit] I seem to be getting slightly better performance running it off my SSD, but I didn't play a full hour. The first time it got really bad, it was after about an hour of playing.

I love this game but this is a pain... No news about the patch?

Yeah public beta doesn't seem to change stuttering for me.

Getting real tedious for platforming sections over spikes. Feels pointless trying when the freezes keep killing me :(

Edit: I tried the public beta, worked for a few minutes then back to stutter land.
Ack... I tried the beta patch and had 0 hitches, even in Deepnest.

I thought the patch was good! =/

Sorry, but I'm still getting regular frame stutters, too. It's especially noticable during boss fights :/
Vsync is also still broken.
For the record, I'm using a GTX 750 TI. Maybe it's a GPU-specific issue?

I'm in the ancestral mound. I walk to the right away from the gate and the person who trapped you, it stutters. I attack the bug that rolls in the ball, it stutters. I get hit by said enemy, it stutters. I jump up to the ledge after killing it and the flying enemy, it stutters. You get the idea.

You guys chose a REALLY bad engine if you couldn't take the time to tune your streaming properly. I'm frankly shocked that you released it in this state since the stutter was well known before release.

The game is actually a hybrid between borderless and fullscreen, due to this, it can't detect refresh rates properly on some systems.

I lost the trial of fools because it stuttered during a jump. The white palace took far longer than it should because of stutter during jumps. I had to re-do the grey mourner quest because it stuttered right at the end. This is completely unacceptable. Losing at crucial moments because of factors out of my control drives me mad, I'd get a refund if I were able to. I'm not touching this piece of crap until that is 100% fixed, and if it never is, so be it.

Well I've requested a refund. Its been nearly a week since it released and no meaningful fixes for the stuttering have been put out. If by some miracle they are ever fixed, then I will rebuy it. Considering how long these guys are taking with their patching, 2 hours/2weeks for a steam refund is too short to risk waiting.

Bought it to try out the beta patch and noticing the stuttering about once every few minutes. Haven't died to it yet, but I can easily see it being terrible to deal with once the game ramps up in difficulty.

Windows 10, GTX760ti

Tried disabling vsync and messing with a few other settings to no avail.

I'm still keeping the dream alive. I wont be refunding this game because it IS awesome. I just hope one of these days I can play it myself. Don't give up on us Devs and we wont give up on you... Well some of us wont...

Out of curiosity, has anyone with frame jumps had their fps drop to ~5 fps near the area where they get the tram key?

Outside of the frame jumps I normally maintain a steady 144fps, but for some reason that specific spot knocked everything down to anywhere from 5-10 fps until I left that "board" and came back.

i had that happen un der the resting grounds, in the tomb area.
every single spike pit dropped the frames so badly, i got hit by every one of them.
as soon as the ground crumblrd, BAM! super loss of frames.
this was with both regualr and beta verisons.

This is still happening for me. I have the same specs as OP, and the stuttering is ok for the most part, but in high action areas it gets really bad and annoying. A game of this art style should not be running this poorly on my hardware and it's been a long time since a fix was promised.

You didn't enable the new beta controller option, by any chance?

This is happening to me as well, but only since the DLC update. Intel 3570k, Radeon fury X. Seems to be triggered by opening the large overworld map. after that, performance is garbage until i leave the game.
