Who/What exactly is the Hunter? (mild spoilers)
When you receive the Hunter's Mark from the Hunter, he reveals his FINAL FORM whole body, which seems to consist of bones/a skeleton? Is he not a bug with an exoskeleton like most other characters in the game? Thoughts?

We do not know but it seems like he is not a bug but rather what they call "beast". It is possible he is one of (lesser?) Higher Beings.

Huh, never considered them being a beast, but it makes sense. Same number of eyes as Herrah, and she's referred to as a beast.

I doubt it's actually bones, it's probably just a very spindly chitinous body.

Ahhhhh that would certainly make some sense. More details would be cool though, I love this game's lore.

Characters like the hollow knight have similar bonelike limbs

Does that refer to her actual species, or is it more of an honorific intended to highlight her ruthlessness and brutality?

No idea, though I remember one of the mushroom plaques refers to her as "a common beast". Maybe we'll get more info in a DLC-Herrah's got a lot of interesting potential, given she's a dreamer, her title, and connection to Hornet.
