With metrovanias / roguealikes you tend to fire them up, play, put them down... then return 6-18months later and replay them (esp. the quality ones like DS / FTL etc). They have a natural cycle to them that can help your hardware brand (and, of course, Nethack has been going for 15+ years now, and any serious Player tends to get that itch every few years...)
Basically, it's a new concept for the HARDWARE manufacturers since suddenly if you have these type of niche games on your format it extends the life of your product by at least 18 months, which can be worth $100's of millions (in terms of outlay / production / design / marketing etc for a new platform).
That's the real reason S&S is getting a Vita port: SONY are finally learning a lesson. Four years too late, but hey.
It's not as if their CEOs get paid multi-million saleries and stock options to play golf is it? .... oh.
Until then, we're gonna stick with the facts if you don't mind!
-You claim that Hollow Knight could not be ported on PS Vita >>> Wrong
-You claim that PS Vita is a dead platform >>>> Wrong
And since we know that a PS4 version is coming later this year, and that the Kickstarter campain had PS Vita port as one of its stretch goals, I would say chances are very high to see Hollow Knight come to Vita :)
I rarely meet fanboys, but it's such a pleasure and joy to see them in the wild[1] The Vita had 22 games released for it in 2016
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016-ps4-ps3-ps-vita-video-game-release-date-page/
Steam released > 4207 games in 2016 alone on its platform. Yeah, I'm thinking you need some perspective. Anyhow, good luck to the fanboy who reported all my posts to get me banned - such a mature little snowflake.
Oh, and just checked:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11662585/hollow-knight
The Vita port missed by ~AU$19,000 and comes with the proviso: "* Subject to approval from Sony! We have spoken to them and started the process to become Sony Developers. Guess what Salt & Sanctuary HAS that Hollow Knight does NOT?
Yep, that'd be a SONY DEVELOPER CONTRACT.
Literally little child wasting my time, who doesn't even understand business when it's laid out for him on the kickstarter page.
Oh, and fun fact: S&S launched on the PS4 in 2016. It took until 2017 for a Vita port to be announced, which suggests their focus was 100% on PS4 sales, with Vita merely being a small blip on the tail end.
~
TL;DR
Turns out I know what I'm talking about. HK won't get ported until they get a contract like S&S, which is still under discussion.
Go figure.

1st March - meaning they're still working out contracts and nothing is set in stone yet: I strongly suspect S&S and other titles will be used as a metric for Vita support.
[1] No, it's not: you've totally ignored the substance of the post, backed up with real data.
And no, there wasn't just 22 games released for Vita on 2016, check your "real data". You're "spouting non-sense" again but that has to be expected by now. It's just sad that you would think I'm a fanboy simply because I'm opposing actual facts to your fantasy.
But anyway, I'm done with you.
Some people truly can't be helped and I'm not a social worker. Though I tried but my patience has its limits. I just hope the mods can come in and clean this thread that you completely derailed with your toxicity.
It's time to get back on the topic and yes : Hollow Knight may very well be coming to PS Vita later this year or in 2018! Everything indicates it, from the future PS4 version to the kickstarter campain stretch goal. But we don't have more info for now :)
I'm out!
Edit > https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/all-ps-vita-games/cid=STORE-MSF77008-PSVITAALLGAMES%7C%7C/1
This is the official US Playstation Store listing all the PS Vita games sorted by release date. Read carefully : the 2016 releases start from around beginning of page 2 and go almost to the end of page 6. Got it? Ok, here comes the tricky part : There is 30 games per page. I'll let you do the maths. But hint and pro-tip©: it's more than 22.
Seriously?

That's a Reddit compiled list: good luck finding a major Western Publishing company in that list of 2016, and good luck being able to find more than 20 in a Western market-place.
Literally lying.
- Maybe it comes to the Vita maybe it doesn't. It's up to Sony and the devs to figure it out.
- It would work perfectly on the Vita.
- Boink is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, instead of starting a civilized argument he just threw some specs to start with and told you to "stop smoking crack" after that he acted like Damos was attacking him, and just kept on throwing random numbers and information that in his tiny mind proved he was right but it had nothing to do with what Damos was saying. To put it in similar words to his "the toxicity, it burns"
- The Vita while not dead is doing very poorly in numbers for Sony here in the west.
- Even though it's doing very poorly it has an awesome community and the modding scene is not bad either.
Hollow Knight seems to be a game suitable to play on Vita.
The Vita is a dead handheld, even in Japan. Its too weak now and PS4 ports have to be degraded for many games in order to get it to run on it. The Switch is perfect as its more powerful than the Vita and its a handheld, so it will attract the Japanese devs.
Btw, this game is coming out for the Switch in another month or two.
It's called the Nintendo Switch. lol
@Boink: "Education, for free. Stup up, Listen, Learn. "
Maybe you ought to take your own advice.
A year later there has been no release even hinted at for the PS Vita.
If you meant Nintendo Switch, then sure:

The two systems are completely different.
Well. Don't have to if it's correct in the first place, yes?
Trust me that thing's hardly a handheld you don't wanna bring it with you outside unless you are carrying a bag of some type all the time. Vita on the other hand is a pocket friendly.
