Savegame tool
Savegame tool I made for converting savegames from 360/PS3 to PC: http://www.fluffyquack.com/tools/DDsavetool.rar

You can also unpack and repack saves to/from XML with it. Read the readme.txt for usage information. When converting savegame from console to PC, you'll also need a PC savegame (it reads your steam id from the PC savegame and adds it to the converted savegame). Getting your savegame file from console might be a small hassle, but I'm sure anyone who really wants to convert their savegame are familiar with copying save files from xbox or ps3.

There's a limitation that you have to be using a console Dark Arisen savegame when converting; it can't be an original Dragon's Dogma save.

If you converted a savegame with v1.0 of this tool from xbox to PC and you're experiencing problems going online in the game. Use this command "DDAsavetool -reset DDDA.sav" to reset online pawn data which will fix this issue. Any saves converted from v1.1 and forward should not have this problem.

Example of converted save:
Xbox: http://abload.de/img/2016-01-15_18-00-51ffs1v.jpg
PC: http://abload.de/img/ddda2016-01-1517-56-49vs4x.jpg

You can find your PC savegame at \\Steam\userdata\[steamuserid]\367500\remote\DDDA.sav

The tool requires VS2008 C++ runtime libraries to be installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

Hi , i have a save from my old xbox 360 i was able to extract the save in my pc and have two files
DD_SAVEDATA_00 and DD_SAVEDATA_01 , but when i try to convert the any of the two files i get this error : Neither files is a Dark Arisen console savegame.

But my savefile is a Dark Arisen save file and the DDDA.sav file is from the PC version so it should be a Dark Arisen file.

Does anyone know a solution ?

Thanks
It's been years since I've fiddled with this, but did you directly copy this from a Xbox 360 device, or convert it as well? Xbox uses its own container format, so you need to convert it from that, and then you can use my tool.

I just looked through my old posts and I found this:

"You need to use a program for unpacking PIRS (xbox specific container file format) files. I use a program called wxpirs for doing it. If you unpack it you'll get the real savegame file, and that's what you'll use with my save tool."

Hello, Is this possible in porting the save from GOG to the steam version as well?
gonsi 6 AGO 2021 a las 9:40 a. m.
Are you sure you can't just copy them from gog folder to steam folder?
FluffyQuack 11 OCT 2021 a las 10:29 a. m.
Steam saves need your steam ID as part of the savegame, so I doubt copying a GOG save as-is will work. But it might be possible to manually edit the XML version of the savegame and add the ID.

The executable is DDsavetool not DDAsavetool. Look inside the program folder you have.

Will this ever been updated so that PS4/XB1 saves can be converted too? Tried doing my PS4 save, and of course it doesn't recognize it as a game save.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the time to do major changes to the tool.

Can you use it to convert to XML at all? If not, then it sounds like it might be a lot work. If you can convert it to XML, then you might be able to manually edit the XML file and, convert it back to binary.

If I recall, all you need to add is a line with Steam id. I don't remember what it should look like, but you can look at a PC savegame for reference.

You asked elsewhere if the source code is available, and it's downloadable here: https://fluffyquack.com/tools/source/DDsavetool.rar

I need to actually decrypt the PS4 save file before being able to do anything with it, right?
gonsi 25 ENE 2023 a las 2:04 a. m.
you had to decrypt ps3 save, so it stands to reason you have to do the same with ps4 one.
