Savegame tool
Savegame tool I made for converting savegames from 360/PS3 to PC: http://www.fluffyquack.com/tools/DDsavetool.rar

You can also unpack and repack saves to/from XML with it. Read the readme.txt for usage information. When converting savegame from console to PC, you'll also need a PC savegame (it reads your steam id from the PC savegame and adds it to the converted savegame). Getting your savegame file from console might be a small hassle, but I'm sure anyone who really wants to convert their savegame are familiar with copying save files from xbox or ps3.

There's a limitation that you have to be using a console Dark Arisen savegame when converting; it can't be an original Dragon's Dogma save.

If you converted a savegame with v1.0 of this tool from xbox to PC and you're experiencing problems going online in the game. Use this command "DDAsavetool -reset DDDA.sav" to reset online pawn data which will fix this issue. Any saves converted from v1.1 and forward should not have this problem.

Example of converted save:
Xbox: http://abload.de/img/2016-01-15_18-00-51ffs1v.jpg
PC: http://abload.de/img/ddda2016-01-1517-56-49vs4x.jpg

You can find your PC savegame at \\Steam\userdata\[steamuserid]\367500\remote\DDDA.sav

The tool requires VS2008 C++ runtime libraries to be installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

Some detailed instructions on how to get the ps3 save ready for conversion would be much appreciated. I put maybe 20-30 hours into dogma on ps3 and never beat it, I don't want to have to start over on pc.

So I am getting quite a bit frustrated with this tool trying to convert my PS3 save. I decrypted DATA0.DAT with Bruteforce and re-encrypted it by following this guide :http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/how-to-decrypt-encrypt-your-ps3-saves-with-bruteforce.959492/

After I did that, I opened command prompt in admin mode and typed this exactly : DDsavetool.exe -c DATA0.DAT DDDA.sav

It said "converted save to ddda.sav" and yet when I turn the game on and try to load it it says something like this "failed to load save, save game is corrupted".

And when I try to convert the original DATA0.DAT it just says "Neither file is a Dark Arisen console savegame"

So what the hell am I doing wrong here? I really want to have my original save back but it just doesn't seem to work for me, please anyone help me out there.

ok. I found a resolution. You should have mentioned that you have to extract the DD_SAVEDATA from the DD_SAVEDATA_01 with 360Revolution or any other tool capable of that.

Does anyone know what the error: could not open file ddda.save for reading error is about when trying to convert a PS3 save?
Silent Knight 2016 年 1 月 16 日 下午 12:15
Still no step by step directions or tutorial for this? If anyone has free time please make one.

I'm in the rift trying to re-summon a past pawn and the game is stuck on "Accessing server..." - can't even leave the menu (input lockout).

Any advice?
Did you convert with version 1.1? You could make sure you have v1.1 of the tool, and then do "ddsavetool -reset DDDA.sav"

And also, if you have console pawns in your current party, you could try going offline, release them, then do the reset thing with your savegame, and then go online with the save. Maybe that'll work.
Yeah, I used 1.1. Ended up using the -reset option and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server accessing, although the pawn I lost is apparently lost forever.

Now I'm gonna have to wait around for someone to put up a good level 200 Ranger/mule pawn... ah, well.

Hey could someone help me with converting my save? I have the files form my PS3 save but none of them are in .sav format, only one is in .dat format, and it doesn't do anythign when I try to use the conversion tool on it
Colby 2016 年 1 月 16 日 下午 2:44
Just logged in rq to say that it worked like a charm... however, since I was lvl infinity all the pawns are premades :C. BUT, what I thought was hilarious is the 12 or so friend requests I recieved after loading the game up from p0eople who had used my pawn LOL. I hope most of them were like me and converted an old save :x

converted a ps3 save myself. I'll give you the best instructions I can.
FIRST THING'S FIRST, MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR ORIGINAL DA PC SAVE BEFOREHAND.
1. if you haven't already, download Brute Force Ps3 for decrypting (there are tutorials for this elsewhere)
2. Once you have the decrypted ps3 save, Make sure you have the DDsavetool.exe in the SAME folder.
3. locate your DDDA.sav in c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\159193716\367500\remote and place it in the SAME folder as the DDsavetool AND your DATA0.DAT
4. IN THE FOLDER that your saves and the program are placed in, ctrl+shift+right click the folder window, and select "open a command window here"
5. Once the command window is open, type the following, WITHOUT QUOTES, exactly how it appears. "DDsavetool.exe -c DATA0.DAT DDDA.sav" After this is typed press enter. it *should* tell you that it succesfully converted the dat file to the .sav.
6. place the .sav file back into c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\159193716\367500\remote
7. when the game starts, it MAY still start in offline mode, however this is not an issue. simply load up the new save, travel to Gran Soren if you aren't already there, TURN ON ONLINE MODE in the options menu, then sleep at the inn. from my personal experience, the game will connect to the server and everything will be gucci.

If everything beyond that worked out, congrats, you're where you left off 3 years ago XD.

P.S. if you had any pawns from other players when you copied the save, you'll still have them, making them essentially "ghost" pawns. if you intend to keep them, do not dismiss them, obviously, or they';ll be gone forever. The rift still works, and you can still search for user pawns there. I'm just saying that pawns that wander around (if you're a high level) will be ones generated by the game until people get to your level naturally.

DDsavetool -c DD_savedata DDDA.sav
Converted save to DDDA.sav
I did the process but it didn't do anything to the file and the files both say they were unaltered from the process

Thanks, I manage to use bruteforce and got the ps3 save file. I have both DATA0.DAT and DDDA.sav in the save folder as the DDsavetool but when i try to use DDsavetool -c DATA0.DAT DDDA.save i get the "error: could not open file ddda.save for reading" the file isnt open as i'm doing this

edit: read only is also unchecked

Are the files in steam save directory? Maybe you need to copy them away from there first. If that doesn't fix it, I'm not sure what is going wrong unfortunately.
