You need 2x barbed nails rings, impact augment and strong weapon to interrupt the vortex.
Range class is easy mode. Hide behind broken pillar, mighty bend or fearful din the nose. Magic can use Holy focus bolt.
Melee class, climb as soon taken 3 HP bar:

Use liquid vim potion
Hide behind something, you can also pop a liquid vim so you wont lose all your stamina while trying to run away from the sucking effect.
Make sure you're far from him to wait for the skill to finish... far enough so that your pawns lose agro, otherwise your pawns will just run at him and get swallowed back to the rift (and you'll be alone fighting).

Best trick:
His rift attack (he actually open the rift to send your pawns back in it) is an instability state (this mean that while he use this skill, his KD resistance gets lower).
So stack knock down effect on him rapidly while aiming at his head. Depending on your vocation this might prove difficult...
Having augments like impact or emphasis (the later only work on spells designed to knock back/down), gear like barbed nail, eliminator helm and cursed king belt equipped (each improve your KD power by 50 pts), popping periapts (up to 4), using blast arrows will help.
Another good option is to climb him (under the effect of a liquid vim), eventually using climbing improving augments (or simply being a strider) and attack his head (that's his weak point in "normal" form, in the dragon form it becomes the dragon head).
Skills like hundred kisses and dire gouge are good for this, but simple light core skills will stack more knock down effect per hit (but have less dps).
The goal doing this is the same, knocking him out of his skill.
If you succeed, he will stop using his skill and enter a stunned state for a few seconds, kneeling on the ground, he will also be taking pre-emptive damages untill he recovers.

Cheat mode:
Ranger/strider/assassin + tenfold/fivefold volley + impact + 2 barbed nails + cursed king belt (no need to upgrade it) + eliminator helm (no need to upgrade either) + 4 conqueror periapts + clout + vehemence + 1 liquid vim + as much blast arrows as you can carry (make your pawns carry other stacks for you) + Holy affinity on your shortbow/longbow (purely physical, no permanetly enchant split damage crap... unless you got nothing better of course....).
- Before the fight start ask your support mage to cast holy affinity on you (press the help command).
- Approach him to get the cutscene to start.
- Once the cut scene finish, open your inventory then equip your blast arrows along with all your KD power boosting gear (barbed nail, eliminator helm, cursed king belt) then pop your 4 conqueror periapts and your liquid vim.
- Charge tenfold/fivefold volley, aim at his face and start shooting.
That should knock him down quite fast.... when he's on the ground stunned, keep shooting untill you run out of blast arrows....
- if he's still alive after all your blast arrows are spent (very unlikely, unless you really suck at aiming...), take all the blast arrows you can carry from one of your packmule-pawn (exchange the stuff you carry for his blastarrows to take as much as possible).
- Keep shooting.
- Stop shooting when it dies (to save blast arrows).
Remember that a ranger should be farther than 12 meters from the target to deal max damages with his longbow while shortbow users (assassin and strider) should be below 12 meters.... adjust your range accordingly depending on the vocation you picked... this will save some blast arrows
Also know that tenfold is bugged and consumme more special arrows than the amount of hits it really deals..... so this skills isnt necessarly the best choice, only the highest attack power of the longbow give some advantage to rangers here. But it's definitely the vocation that will burn trough stacks of blast arrows the faster.
You can also go the risky but very rewarding (and blast arrows saving) way of the force hatchet assassin.... basically charge the force hatchet on daimon (2 full mooslashes or antler tosses should do) then start spamming blast arrows at his face.... this will grant you a 200% multiplier to any of your physical attacks (so bow attacks and blast arrows damages too....) untill you get hit by something.
If you get hit while the force hatchet is charged, the liquid vim should prevent the counter effect (losing all of your stamina) but you'll have to charge your force hatchet again to get the damage bonus back.
Also.... this effect stacks with the effect of the conqueror periapts (so 400% damage in total).
If my memory serves he will eventually do a vortex on his own if one takes too long, or if his health reaches a certain point.
I made a guide in how to save your pawns from Daimon second form:
