I have the same exact issue. Is anything working for you? I have completely reinstalled the game, but still no luck.

Finally figured it out. You have to delete your config folder.

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\DRAGONS DOGMA DARK ARISEN

delete that and the game SHOULD launch correctly.

just disabling Vsync did it for me.
Just right click on the file mentionned in the previous post, click edit, and for the Vsync value, make it OFF instead of ON.
:)

For the love of god, can someone walk me through where can I find that config folder. There is no "CAPCOM" folder in my computer. Only there is this "steam" folder and "DDDA" in that folder. There seems to be no config folder either. -.-

The CAPCOM folder is located in Users/your name/Appdata/Local

Not for everyone. I have the exact same problem. It's completely unplayable because the folder just flat out doesn't exist. Not all of us install our games on our main hard drives.

if you can't find appdata folder, it's because it's hidden by default. You need to go to folder options and make it viewable. For a folder option adjustment for your respective windows version, use google to find out how to.

ive done EVERYTHING ive gone to my nvidia control panel and messed with my anti-aliasing settings, ive deleted the config folder, ive changed the VSYNC in said folder. i have no idea whats going on. it worked the very first time i opened the game, then i changed some settings and BOOM nothing. just a black screen with sound and a cursor. im so lost and i really love this game so i dont want to refund it. please if anyone can give me some sort of direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

@pure chaos, uninstall, reinstall? this is weird, how it happened is exactly the same as me (changed some options as well) but changing Vsync in that folder fixed it for me.
@siwak, did the game run fine originally though? this is probably another problem.

@waguiarw change xres in the shortcut properties? (set it to 640?)

@siwak.mateusz if thats the case, you might wanna look up how to change that using nvidia inspector. powerful tool that works when nvidia control panel doesn't.
