Game stuck just after "Final Judgement" quest

For some reason the quest "The Great Hereafter" Will not trigger. I sit in the throne and nothing happens. I stand up and slide back, clipping through the throne oddly enough. (I can just move out of it.)
If I use the godsbane My hp is reduced to 0 and the camera pans up for a moment before just stopping and letting me control it as normal. The arisen just lies there with the godsbane in their chest. I can't move or use moves and the menus no loger work after that so I end up having to alt+f4.
I've tried reloading from last check point and it just loads me back in the throne room, I assume just after I killed the seneschal with the godsbane. Discarding the godsbane just puts it back in my inventory but it's still broken. Running far enough away just ports me back to my broken throne. The quest log shows Final Judgement as completed.
So I'm at a loss. If any one can help me I would greatly appreciate it. It's driving me insane being stuck at the very end after I've ran through the game on hard mode.

Weird. You may want to load from a backup save or, failing that, the last checkpoint, if you can figure out a way to die, and try the ending sequence again.

In the end I just switched to normal mode and re-engaged hard mode from the main menu to force a semi-Ng+. Hopefully it won't happen a second time : /.
