Just cause you didn't notice any issues doesn't mean it was all OK. But you have finally noticed something and you know what's the cause.
You know what to do, purge the game of mods. No, not "switch off" (what that even means?), purge.
Do a clean install to be sure.
I still would like some sort of explenation for the spkg3/arc, sc/sa file/folder problem.
And if I deinstall/reinstall the entire game, wouldn't that deplete me of all my gains/achievements of previous runthroughs?
Can achievements get removed from Steam without very special means? I don't think so.
As for broadly defined gains: that all depends on whether your save will be compatible with the clean game or not. I don't see any reasons for it to not be, but be sure to backup the save just in case.
BTW I have heard a lot bad about Vortex. Basically that it only does a good job with Skyrim and you should expect issues when using it for other games. Re-consider installing modifications manually.
I disabled the mods and tried it again on both my accounts. Everefall is just F*ed up.
I also did a search on my Drive for "spkg3". No such files could be found. I don't understand the error msg. How can it fail to open a file, that never seemed to have existed in a folder that has a totally different name?
As for "achievements", I didn't mean the steam achievements, but rather my in-game progress and the loads of stuff I have gathered, purified, dragonforged ect. I don't want to start from scraps again.
you really dont know how modmanagers work, but get passive aggressive.
modmmanagers dont remove the original files, they just emulate it for the game.
also you never heard of vortex i am sure. cause all your claims were wrong about how mod installation works.
but op is 100% in the wrong forum and rather should ask the modmakers or download the files manually and find out what they change to elimate the wrong one.

tl;dr:
i am pretty sure you didnt check the description of mods.
for example
ddda cannot use multiple mods that use game_main.arc files without manually work.
learn how to merge these together and it will work.
edit: the files and folders you are searching are inside the arc files in the folder you found.
