Pressure plates bug out

So I'm having this problem in the game where none of the pressure plates work. The watergod's altar, the ancient quarry and the tainted mountain, none of those pressure plates work. This is really annoying considering I can't progress in the game. I already tried starting a new game but the bug is stil there.
I've read something about turning your V-sync off and setting your fps to variable but my settings were already like this. So I've tried setting my fps to 60 and this did work on the first pressure plate in the ancient quarry, but not for the second and not for the pressure plate in the watergod's altar either.
Does anyone know how to fix this because it really sucks I can't progress in the game and I just want to enjoy this amazing game.

Have you considered that your Arisen and/or pawn party may just be too light to activate said pressure plates?

The plates completely go down and then they stay down but keep flickering. I even took Mercedes on an escort mission through the ancient quarry and still it didn't work, not even with all my pawns in average weight

It definitely seems to be linked with FPS. I set it down to 30 whenever I have to use one of these switches to avoid the bug. Minor annoyance once you figure it out.
