GPU usage and temp
Hello guys,

I've been enjoying this game, but why do the game runs hot even if the GPU usage is always under 40% (1070 laptop) ?

It usually reaches 65 °C with the fan around 2300rpm, I know it's a safe temp but even The Witcher 3 run cooler than DDDA. V-Sync is on and the FPS are capped to 60. My refresh rate is 120Hz, I couldn't set it to 60Hz within the option menu.

I wanted to put an enb but sadly I can't since the last time I've tried the temp reached 75 °C.
Thanks in advance for your help !

Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern gaming laptops with a discrete GPU may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

This is from the store page. That said try opening the config.ini file and change the jobthread number to 1 higher or lower number. Example = JOBTHREAD 3 change to 4 or 2. Also in the Nvidia control panel under 3D settings you can add the game in the Program Settings and tweak things like power management and texture filtering so it doesn't use as much resources. Remeber though if you tweak the global settings it changes the settings for all apps and programs so thats why you add it to the programs list.
Hope this helps because heat is bad for your hardware.

Hi and thank you for your reply,

I've already set JOBTHREAD to 1 through the ini file, also I did make sure that the power option was balanced with the Nvidia, but still the game is running quite hot and my GPU is always under 40%. This is quite weird.

Assuming your using W10 try turning the HDR off in the Windows settings.

It seems that you can't disable it, there is only two options between Low and High, but there is no difference at all when I switch it.

Last thought I have that might help is in the config.ini lower and turn off these 2.
ViewRange=FARTHEST
DofFilter=ON

Thanks again for you help friend, it seems there is no difference at all, I believe the game may be not well optimized as it looks like, probably doing unecessary operations or anything else.

Bonsoir,

My GPU is used at 99% all the time and I keep the t ° at 64 ° with the settings of the fan by MSI Afterburner. I do not like that too much.
I have a gforce GTX 970 perfect for recent games with better graphics. I also think that the game is not suitable for win 10.

For your case I believe setting JOBTHREAD through the ini files to 1 (mine was 7 by default) may reduce CPU usage, for the GPU usage and heat I believe it is because I can't make the game displaying at 60Hz, it is always at 120Hz.

By the way have you tried hard setting that to 60hz in the Nvidia control panel under Adjust Desktop Size and Position.

Yeah I've did a custom resolution at 60 Hz, but still the game was forcing the refresh rate at 120 Hz.
I've first tried to set an launching option to force the refresh rate at 60, seemed that it did little improvment, then I've limited the framerate at 60 with Nvidia Inspector and now the game seems to quite fine without heating my GPU. I'll keep an eye if anything changes.
