Fatal Error, Failed Open File ** I can't find the file.
programfiles(x86)/steam/steamapps\common\DDDA\nativePC\effect\mod\m_cm000_07_01.mod3. When I go to the files there is no effect file under nativePC.

I have purged all mods, uninstalled DDDA, re-installed DDDA and re-deployed all mods, Still get the same error.
Anyone seen anything like this?

Did you purge the game as well? You can never be sure unless you have deleted the DDDA folder.
Also, instaling in a different loaction may help.

I had to do as you suggested. I deleted the DDDA folder and the Vortex DDDA folder and then reinstalled them. That seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your help.

Always a pleasure.

I had to do this again the next time I started a New Game. Any idea what is causing this?

Idk, are you using some back up application that restores deleted files?
Eventually I'd check if Steam Cloud is restoring old save for you. That's just in case the present issue is not tied to game files just save files.

BTW Did you try instaling the game in a different location?

By saving in a different location do you mean on a different hard drive? No I didn't do that. I installed it on the same drive.

So we likely have some similar mods. I am using the vortex mod manager and I actually had this identical issue. However when I went into the Vortex mod manager, I simply disabled all mods then made a new save. I didn't have the issue on loading an old save however. Hope this helps. I didn't have to uninstall anything.
