Yeah, I like both for different reasons. Build 1 would let me actually play as MK before level 200. For Build 2 though perhaps switch some Fighter to Warrior to boost attack over 500 since I hear that is the magic number for the two attack stats while still keeping the rest balanced?
BUILD 3:
10 levels Fighter
25 levels Warrior
65 levels Ranger
100 levels Sorcerer

Yeah, decided on going with the #3 build. Will probably level my pawn up identically to me except perhaps invert the Ranger and Warrior segments for them so while i'm playing as a Warrior they are a Ranger. Then there will be a small period of overlap where we are both Rangers then he goes Warrior. Then it will be dual Sorcerers to 200. I've heard good things about that. I'll switch to MK at 200 and leave my guy as a Sorcerer or switch him to a Mage for heals and support.
Shouldn't be too tedious. I've watched videos of gameplay for all the applicable classes and they all seem fun so no matter what I should be having fun :)
Also, any advice/ideas about augments? Do I really need to worry about that very much?
If I was going to go Mystic Knight at 100 I might do something like this.
MK @ 100:
10 levels of Strider
40 levels of Assassin
50 levels of Sorcerer
100 levels of Mystic Knight

@Level 200
HP 3835
ST 3095
Attack 537
Magick 527
Defense 327
Magick Defense 478
Or if you can hold off until 150 for Mystic Knight perhaps something like this?
MK @ 150:
20 levels of Fighter
10 levels of Warrior
70 levels of Ranger
50 levels of Sorcerer
50 levels of Mystic Knight

It's the best there is to play MK or MA before 200
It's funny how everyone says they plan to build one class but then it's just a bunch of playing other classes instead :p
This is only my first playthrough but I like the idea of a good strong challenge early on and deriving my defence from great gear in favor of great attack. Makes the joy of getting phat dropz and conquering elite foes that much better.
Well build 1 is not so bad, you still get to play NK right at lvl 10 and at least for me, assassin is a very interesting class that I want to try anyway. I might end up cheating a bit on the sorc lvls, though. I've never been much of a fan of pure casters in RPGs. Maybe I'll do 50 levels instead of 100. But I hear sorcs are actually really fun to play, so in the end, it's all good really.
