Mystic Knight elemental enhancement
So i am planning on playing as a mystic knight and i wonder what element i should focus on. Back when i played a sorcerer i switched between fire and holy for the after game. Do the mystic knight have any good weapons with natrual elemental damage or should i use the same tactics as before?

there are lots of weapons that have natural element enchantments like fire swords fire maces etc that can be used by a lot of classes not just mystic knights.

Im not sure if you should focus on getting a weapon that deals high physical damage only and then have your knight buff it with an element enchanting skill or if you should go for a weapon with magic damage already on it.

I love playing as a mystic knight and a lot of there skills synergise with elemental weapons such as a trap like skill called ruinous sigil where you put an AoE on the ground but it takes on the element of your weapon so you could make a fire trap area or an ice trap area dealing damage to whatever gets stuck in the area.

Whichever buff you cast will overwrite your weapon's element, but it won't lower the weapon's stats. Instead of focusing on just 1 element it's best to learn which element your enemy is weak to and use that buff before you engage. There's also high level melee weapons of both holy and ice elements and those are the main elements you'll be using on the island.

The Mystic Knight's buffs have the advantage of buffing your whole party, so if you are using physical pawns then they will make an even bigger difference.

Most of the time using the right element against an enemy will more than double your damage against them while also adding a status effect. Enemies that are weak to ice normally can be frozen just by attacking them and enemies that are weak to lightning can be stunned. Even some of the very high level enemies on the island can be frozen or stunned in this way.

Is it realistic to do a MK build that is focused mostly on damage done instead of defense? Are there any breakpoints to meet?

I believe most people build pure offense regardless of vocation. My favorite Mystic Knight build is 1-10 Mage and 10-200 as Sorcerer. You'll have the highest magick attack so you'll be able to kill enemies quickly and you'll still have pretty good magick defense in case you get sloppy and get hit by a stray lightning bolt. The armor you get as a MK has very high built in physical defense, but you'll still eventually get used to dodging or blocking attacks because the enemies on the Island hit pretty hard. Off the Island you'll still be able to shrug off small enemies attacks.

There's a threshold in the sense that if the enemy has higher defense than you have offense, you'll just chip away at their life. The higher your offense gets over their defense the more damage you'll deal.

Well, all of the Magic Knight buffs except one. The Dark/Abyssal Anguish spell works on top of existing enchantments/elements on weapons.

Oh yeah, good catch. Abyssal works so much differently that I don't even have it grouped with the other spells in my mind.
